Prof. Liza Barki-Harrington

Prof. Liza Barki-Harrington is an experimental biologist in the field of signal transduction. She earned her PhD from the Department of Clinical Pharmacology in Ben Gurion University of the Negev under the Supervision of Profs. Sofia Avissar and Gabriel Schreiber. She then moved to Duke University in Durham NC for two postdocs in signal transduction biology under the supervision of Prof. Yehia Daaka and Howard A. Rockman. Liza is a Faculty member at the Department of Human Biology at the University of Haifa since October 2007. 

In addition to her main line of research, Liza has headed a national study examining the attitudes of transfusion-dependent hematological patients towards the possibility of receiving home transfusion therapy and she is an avid advocator for the wellbeing of patients with hematological malignancies.
